Days like these are what memories are made of, what we recall as one of the best moments of our year. It is mornings like this that we reminisce about for today is beautiful and joyous. The sun has just rose above the hills and skies are clear with no wind. And on top of that, the swell is Pumping. There is a solid 4ft S swell comboing with a 2-3ft NW that are creating some of the best surf all summer. Not only that, but the swell is expected to build and the tide is coming back in which should only improve the conditions. All watercraft are rideable today, from your biggest log to your smallest chip (though smaller boards that aren't fish-like will have a tougher time). Beginners be warned of the size today and know your limits. But regardless of surf, it is a perfect beach day so come on out and have some fun.
CHANNEL: Head high sets are breaking way out in front of the groin pole and peeling across almost all the way to the boat ramp as a crowd is already forming. The tide is just starting to come back in and should improve the conditions and the size is more than likely to reach that head high to overhead range. Seadrift isn't breaking as well yet, but with the tide expect some excellent rights to peel and reel through over there.
PATCH: Waist to chest waves are breaking, slightly jumbled, but consistent nonetheless. Should pick up later with the tide as it is just starting to come back in. Still a solid choice today and probably the best place for those absolute beginners.
