Daily Surf Report - 8/19/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." - Andy Dufresne (Shawshank Redemption)

Dreary is the sky and even drearier are the waves this morning as the mist is heavy and the swell has depleted itself. But that may just be the morning blues as mother earth knows that school has started back up again. Air temps are at a brisk 58F as light winds are faintly making their way around town. If the current trend persists throughout the day, the sun is less than likely to show itself as the clouds give an ominous reminder that, yes, winter is coming soon...ish, and summer is reaching it's end. If you decide to come out, bring your biggest log and paddle hard. No such thing as a dry run.

CHANNEL:   Small waves in the ankle range are rolling and barely breaking this morning in front of the groin pole as 3 logs try their best with little luck. Not much breaking over on Seadrift or in the middle channel. The tide is high so conditions may improve later this afternoon. The waiting game is on.

PATCH:    One guy out meditating as some lines roll through, but never break till they kiss the beach. There may be a stray pulse every now and then as the S swell fights to stay alive, but those will be very few and far between if at all. This spot could see improvement with a different tide, but don't hold your breath just yet.

PACK IT IN. PACK IT OUT.
