Daily Surf Report - 8/2/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny." - C.S. Lewis

This PSA brought to you today by The Ocean:
Please do not take all the beach sand on your wetsuits, booties and surfboards.  The shop does not want it.  The storm drains do not want it.  The streets do not want it, but the ocean does.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Foggy blanket enveloping the coastal hamlet this morning.  Peace and serenity rule the day.  Winds are calm and ocean is glassed.  We'll see the sun soon enough but for now the vampires run wild through town. Temp is 59F and will again warm into the mid to high 70s.  NW windswell remains with a pesky background SW groundswell that shows itself every so often.  Longboard waves are here for the riding and things are shaping up for a magical weekend.  Find your way to the coast and sample the unending delights.

CHANNEL:  Groin bar lefts working today in the thigh high + size.  Feeling groovy and fine with the NW windswell action.  There is a bend and wrinkle in time around Mali-Bo that allows for connections to the inside rights that reel at waist high.  Only the chosen few can access the portal but what waits inside is special.  A bit choppy in the Channel with outgoing tide but water levels remain positive like our attitudes and that is a good thing.  Seadrift exploration will yield results but size does vary.

PATCH:  Still small with the periodic SW swell bump.  Plenty of waiting time to ponder the knee high mini peelers that dominate this morning.  Out by the meeting rock a few better waves will pop up in the thigh high size only to fizzle out quickly.  Tide levels are good and if a confluence of events collaborates correctly this spot will have afternoon waves.  For now - empty lineup.
