Kahuna, in Hawaiian, means “Big Chief” and Kupuna means “Grandparent” or, more accurately, “older member of the community who others turn to for advice and counsel.”

Overcast with fog and light winds. Current temp of 58F this morning. Ocean slightly textured again. Typical weather pattern has sun coming out by around noon with temps up to 70F.

Things could get a little better, but right now they are not too ideal...Current temp is 56 F and onshore winds coming out of the south. Light mist/rain with minimal swell activity.

If conditions improve, we will update the report later in the day...

Daily Surf Report - 7/20/2011

Good Morning,

The fog is clearing, little to no wind, glassy waters.
Low tide this morning keeping things pretty clean. Surf is small, but it looks like it is shaping up to be a great beach day.

Channel: Surf is about knee to waist, however, the new south is starting to show with occasional outside sets, things could pick up with more tide. There's about 5 people in the water here at 8:00am

Patch: Surf is in the knee to waist high range, with a very low tide this morning, lots of exposed rocks and waves breaking way on the outside. Every once in a while a bigger (waist/chest) high set wants to show from the new south, this spot could get better all day with the rising tide, about 8 people in the water.

Daily Surf Report - 7/16/2011

Good Morning Surfers. Summer has the blues and the fog and drizzle is here to prove it. On the upside the ocean is super glassy without a hint of wind and there are waves breaking in the knee to waist high range. There are currently three surfers out on longboards at the patch, but as stated in previous days, the tide is Uber low this morning. The groin/channel has surf and there are plenty of guys out getting some waves. Longboards mostly but a super floaty fish might be workable if you're Kelly Slater. We should see improving surf condtitions throughout the day. The temperature is currently 62F.

Channel: Surf in this area is knee to waist high. Looks like the tide push will help throughout the day. About 12 people out.

Patch: Surf is in the knee high butt slapper range, with a very low tide this morning, lots of exposed rocks and waves breaking way on the outside. Three surfers out.

Daily Surf Report - 7/10/11

Good Morning All,
This Sunday we have some summer haze with calm conditions and cool weather. Overcast/foggy morning with current temp of 58F and light winds. The Sun should come out later and the tide should fill in, hopefully gracing us with some surf and nice beach weather.

Channel: Surf is in the knee to waist high size this morning. We have small lefts at the Groin and some rights deeper in the Channel and heading over to Seadrift that have a bit more size. There are about 10 people out at the channel, a variety of boards are in the water, this little south swell is fun and you could pretty much surf whatever kind of board you want. Conditions could get pretty fun today~

Patch: Tide is still filling in and surf is in the knee to waist high range. Mostly breaking inside but as tide fills in should get better and have waves on the outside by the rock. Again...the south swell has filled in, and there are fun little waves breaking throughout the zone...

Daily Surf Report - 7/1/2011

Beautiful and sun-shiny morning in Bolinas today. No wind, glassy ocean and current temp of 56F. Warming trend starting with temps in the 80s so plan to spend the holiday weekend at the beach. We will be open on Monday - July 4th at 9am.

Channel: Surf in the knee to thigh high size. The waves smooth and breaking clean. Outer lefts off the Channel bar and inside zippers on the Groin bar. Longboards are the call for best results. About 20 surfers scattered from Seadrift over to Bolinas.

Patch: Low tide conditions. Small surf in the calf high range. Should improve as tide fills in throughout the day. Bring your favorite longboard out today.

Beginner surfboard SALE! 2-Mile Surf Shop is still making room for new inventory and clearing out some USED foam and Softop boards. Perfect to learn and practice your surfing on. These are the same boards we use to teach surf lessons. Get them while they last.

Isle SoftDeck Surfboards:
The Isle SoftDeck epoxy surfboards are built in a standard ECORE epoxy construction then wrapped with a 1/4 inch supersoft EVA foam decking on the top deck and rails. The soft deck has built in traction with no wax needed. You get a real epoxy surfboard with a soft deck so your ride is nearly identical to what you would experience on a regular epoxy surfboard. And you also get the extreme durability of epoxy construction so you can be confident they will hold up against the wear and tear of the beginner surfer.
