Daily Surf Report - 1/31/2016

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Rather be dead than cool." - Kurt Cobain

A beautiful day is upon us as the sky breaks free and the sun shines down. A bit of a breeze has us gripping our coats but conditions have us on our toes. Wonderful day to take a peek, slide a peak and stay a while.  The beach is accessible as of now and seems like the place to be.

CHANNEL: Small and un-ridden white water crumbles in. Its only company is that of a seagull

PATCH:  Water forming fun ramps about waist high but somewhat slow, and is clearly the place to be. Currently a crowd of large size all learning to share, so if you can't, stay away. Bob and weave and find yourself on a ride lasting as long as you can before it slows down.

Daily Surf Report - 1/30/2016

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." - Frank Lloyd Wright

Unbidden and unridden as NW remains intact though at a lessor level.  Skies are bleary though currently dry and winds and tide are not factors of the equation.  Temps dip to 48F and crowds swell in search of that which satisfies the inner need.  The window is currently open if you care to slip in for a slide.

CHANNEL: Left leaning and sometimes leering peaks will emerge and spin with sub-optimal form.  Size is manageable and cresting at the shoulder high level upon further inspection.  Favorable tides allow for watching, waiting and wading as the ramp devils pose no threats this morn.  A wide expanse of opportunities awaits as waves develop all the way through to Seadrift.

PATCH:  Confounding and confusing to most not wielding carbon paddles as the farthest reaches beckon only to thwart most attempts.  Inner regions show promise but at a more modest means.  There are small rewards to reap today as we find reason to approach between the unsavory storms.

Daily Surf Report - 1/29/2016

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." - T. S. Eliot

Tragic skies though no surprise as new wetness descends as predicted.  Raging S winds and growing swell a combo not benevolent to morning slides or staying dry.   Temps all the way up to 57F the only current factual positive to report.  Hefty helpings of flowing water are upon the seas as continued NW swell amplifies and forms though translation remains an unwritten language today.

CHANNEL: Pulsing with storm driven peaks defying all logical reason and direction.  No lessor evils here to slay this fine morning.  The waiting game for those dawn crackers may well reach into a new day as the current weather has just settled in.

PATCH:
Terrorizing suckers on the seven seas
And if you've got beef - you'll get capped in the knees
We got sixteen men on a dead man's chest
And I shot those suckers and I'll shoot the rest

Daily Surf Report - 1/28/2016

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Human life is as evanescent as the morning dew or a flash of lightning." - Samuel Butler

Moon beams and hollow dreams as we welcome another morning.  Tinted skies are a treat for the eyes as sailors determine what warnings to heed.  Temps blip and dip then settle on 47F.  A rising NW swell and Easterly winds have favorable tendencies that are attempting to manifest.  The present is full of promise.  The future remains unknown.

CHANNEL: Pushed well over into the deeper Channel region and bordering on Seadrift territory.  This is where the masses congregate as 280 degrees seeks to find purchase.  Lopsided crests formulate and fold with less than adequate delivery and shortened rides for the crew.  Neither right nor left holds the secrets as both allow but for abbreviated periods.

PATCH:  Awash with potential and luring a lessor contingent of sliders seeking solace from the throng.   Hit and miss with peaks popping but not rocking - yet rides are in the offering for those positioned correctly.  Tides and winds remain supportive today and may endeavor to dispense advice once your secrets are finally told.

We are closed every Wednesday for the month of January but we will re-open this Thursday at 10AM

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots." - Marcus Garvey

Foggy and groogy en route, yet a certain sunlit clarity reveals itself closer to the breakers. The breezes are light at present, but look to be all over the road as day progresses. The promise of the immediate future seems to have tongues flapping and minds reeling with possibility. This is the calm before the storm, however, and expectations should mirror the  mood. Remember, some men just want to watch the world burn.

CHANNEL: I watched a snail crawl across the edge of a straight razor....That's my dream... . That's my nightmare....

PATCH:  A dozen or so of the decidedly dogged seek stoke from classic Bo slow and low. Slight rights to the inside are being enjoyed and hoi polloi-ed as we speak. Let's shake our booties down by the dock. For it was there, as were we, and this happened to us all...
