Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one.” - Dr Seuss

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 4:30PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN TOMORROW AT 9AM.

Good morning from our little piece of heaven we call BoBo. Looks like a carbon copy of yesterday folks. A little sump-thin is trying to work its way into the channel to no avail. The occasional ankle slapper is rearing its head near the groin pole but not holding up. A large fog banks sits just off the coast line keeping the morning temps around 58F with no wind. Weather forecast for today is for a warmer day than yesterday. Plenty of sunshine on the horizon for latter on today. Pray for a change in conditions on the changing tide latter this afternoon.

CHANNEL: Whole lot of nothing this morning. Small rollers about ankle high making an effort but not holding up. Flat and mushy. Just a few seals out playing around.

PATCH:  Nothing. Not even a ripple. Hope for a change as the day rolls on.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are.” - Joseph Campbell

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 4:30PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN TOMORROW AT 9AM.

Well folks, looks like we have a case of the Mondays today. Lake Bolinas is nice and flat. Overcast and damp conditions with no wind. Outside temps are a cool 57F. The NW swell has passed us by on its way to other locations. Today would be a good day to get caught up on some sleep or even some work. Never to early to start that Christmas shopping. The water off our coast is cooling down a bit but the temps are still in the low 60s. So grab a book and some bacon and eggs, curl up on that couch and have a relaxing morning.

CHANNEL: Whole lot of nothing this morning. Flat, flat, flat. Nothing happening out in the water today. A couple of sea gulls and pelicans doing the salt water soak today. If yesterday was any indication of how the surf will shape up during this afternoon, see you tomorrow.

PATCH:   Same as the channel, just look the other way.

Daily Surf Report - 9/28/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
I think people should feel encouraged to be themselves” - Dave Grohl

Overcast coastal conditions with light S winds.  Temp balmy at 62F and blue patches starting to show through.  Fear not as the beach is the cure to all ills that ail.  Find the local anesthetic.  Use as directed.  Self medicate when needed.  Tamp down the excitement and take what is given to keep an even keel.  There is always stoke and aloha in the water.  Make it your mantra and pass it along.  Just local windswell and fading NW in the water this morning.  Enough to keep you jones-ing for more and a few worth riding as well.  Water still warm and tides are prescribed at the right height.  Bring it on and have some fun.

CHANNEL:  Chop slop morning but starting to clean up a bit with the incoming tide.  Still a few smooth faces to consider and loggable in the very least.  Sunrise over the hills makes for a beautiful start of the day and riding waves is always better than not.  Waves arriving in the thigh high size and rights and lefts are available.  Trim and glide and seek the nose.  Nothing too fancy but a morning of fun with Southern Fried Saints Fans.  Seadrift has surfers and small rights as well.  Described as waist high and likely less.

PATCH:    Small surf burgeoning on knee high.  Smoothness and radness to be witnessed if you are worthy.  Longboards will catch waves here today and the solitude is deafening right now.  Ask for nothing and be rewarded with plenty on all journeys into the ocean.

Daily Surf Report - 9/27/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
With our love, we could save the world.” - George Harrison

Clear blue skies and golden sunshine grace us this morning with their presence. Calm conditions continue as this weekend gets going. Air temp is at a crisp 57F that is bound to heat up with not a breath of wind. Dwindling NW groundswell is trying it's best to make it's way in this morning as the tide is just starting to come back in. For all you weekend warriors, crystal creatures, and first time board riders, come on out and see whats in store as many a wave is coming through and plenty of stoke is to be had.

CHANNEL: Consistent thigh high lefts are breaking in front of the groin pole as 4 logs and 1 SUP take turns getting their fair share of waves and pure stoke. Surface is a sheet of glass with only a small ripple from the incoming tide. Middle channel and Seadrift are not breaking as well yet, but can be expected to improve later this morning. No one is out over on that side of the channel, so be an explorer, be a leader, and find all the waves and glory over there if you so choose.

PATCH:    Crystalline and glassy conditions as ankle to knee high rights peel through. No one out, but waves are to be had here as well on your larger watercraft. We may see some improvement later this morning once more water fills in. Perfect for beginners and veteran log riders alike. Be the first one out and enjoy the bliss of surfing a peak all to yourself... until the crowd arrives that is.

Daily Surf Report - 9/26/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“When you're out to get the honey you don't go killing all the bees.”
 - Joe Strummer

Sunshine and swell and calm conditions to get the weekend started right.  Temp already 61F and rising with blue skies above and smooth ocean below.  Fading NW groundswell with a hint / whisper of S swell lingering around town and keeping it real with rideable surf that is consistent and fun.  Crystal warriors and wanna-be shortboarders all congregating on the coast today for a piece of the action.  Make like kitty and put on some shades and shred.

CHANNEL:  Still have consistent and clean lefts right off the Groin bar that reel and deal at waist high.  Fish, Simmons, Eggs, Logs and other unmentionable water crafts can work this wave today.  Tide pushing in and helping out as well.  A few smaller rights in the Channel and towards Seadrift are going unridden and look to be thigh high + and smooth.  Plenty for everyone if you don't mind sharing the peak.  Be a trailblazer and set out to uncharted regions to find the wave of the day.  6 in the water now.  Bring sunscreen.

PATCH:   Cleaned up and smoothed out.  Still lots of peaks but more organized and efficient this morning.  Incoming tide has the inside Snags working well with pitchy - fast waves that run to the sand.  Middles and outside has softer yet very smooth longboard waves in the waist high size that break in many directions.  A plethora of options today and a good day to put the log through its paces.  From trimming to tip time - lots of waves to get the day off to a great start.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.” - Albert Camus

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 5:00PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN AT 9AM TOMORROW.

Real rain overnite - not a lot but enough to get things started.  Also,  large NW groundswell has arrived and set up camp on the CA coast.  Yes we have surfing conditions today as the winds are generally light, the sky has cleared to blue and the current temp is 59F.  Hello Fall!  Mostly pummeling the Patch with cleaner, yet smaller surf at the Channel.  Tides are incoming and good throughout the day so grab your favorite stick and find your way to the beach.

CHANNEL:  Clean lefts off the Groin bar and offered up at waist high and consistent.  Best on a mid-length or longboard but possible on a fish as well.  Incoming tide giving a little extra push this morning to help out.  Swell angle just a bit off to really hit this spot but what is there is clean and rideable this morning and looks like fun to be had.

PATCH:   Peaks galore and popping all over the place.  Spread out waves so take your pick as to what looks best.  Surfers and SUPs out in force but not a very organized lineup this morning.  Has some size at waist high up to shoulder but shifty and sectioned in general.  Smooth faces and plenty of rides today and should fill in and clean up as the day rolls on.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of.” -Bruce Lee

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 4:30PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN AT 9AM TOMORROW.

Not a whole lot going on in this small town Wednesday morning. The clouds are sitting low as sunlight tries its best to break through to no avail as of yet. Rain is in the forecast for later this afternoon and swell is not. It's a great day to lay in bed and read a book or go for a hike before the rain onsets. Air temps are nice and warm at 65F and bound to stay there as this storm rolls in. Big NW swell is building throughout the day, but passing us by here as it is more N than W. Expect conditions to be small all around today. If you decide to take a chance, get here early before the tide swamps everything out in the afternoon.

CHANNEL: Ankle high sets are rolling in every once in a while in front of the groin pole as two logs try their best at it. Nothing is breaking over at Seadrift or in the middle channel. Stay tuned to see any improvement there later today with a different tide and maybe a bit of the swell wrapping its way in.

PATCH:   As flat as Dexter Holland's vocals. Nothing breaking and no one out. Keep your fingers crossed for that to change, but don't hold your breath.

Well people, the sun is out, the air is cool and crisp, and the surf is non existent. Word of the morning, flat. Waves are about ankle high with no one in the water this morning.Temp right now is 56F and will hopefully heat up. Great day to come to the beach and read a book or catch some rays. Nice relaxing day in BoBo today.

CHANNEL: Not much happening this morning. Flat. Keep your fingers crossed for better conditions when the tide changes.

PATCH:  Whole lot of the same happening out at the patch. No one out with waves in the ankle high range.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
Love is love's reward” - John Dryden

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 4:30PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN AT 9AM TOMORROW.

The sun is out and the fog is sitting a few miles off the coast this first day of fall. The south swell has bid us a fond farewell as the conditions are more like normal for BoBo. Sunshine and plenty of parking are on order for today as a few souls work the conditions this morning. Some knee to thigh high waves are rolling in at the channel and groin pole. The patch shows some of the same condition a lot further out side. Current temps are in the low 60s. The sun is out and the views are beautiful. So come out and enjoy the first day of fall.

CHANNEL:  Small knee high waves rolling through the middle channel and groin pole. Smooth and workable fun. Sea drift looks small and about the same. Two souls are out working this area with some luck and a few good rides into the middle channel. Hope for changed conditions on the changing tide.

PATCH:  Glassy conditions out at the patch with knee high waves rolling in on the outside and way inside this morning. A few rocks are showing as the two people in this area work for their rides. Near glassy conditions top off the knee high waves rolling in this morning.

Daily Surf Report - 9/21/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
If you carry joy in your heart, you can heal any moment.” - Carlos Santana

Everything is lingering here this morning as the clouds are still overhead and the swell is still showing remnants of its former self. Along with this also lingers the stunning beauty of the Bolinas Coast, as the horizon is clear and the hopes for sun are building and the wind is calm to the point of non-existence. Air temp is at 62F and swell is still pulsing in the thigh plus range in both spots. The tide is high already and still coming in, but the waves are here and crowds have already formed to take in the salty air and sea. Great day for beginners and veterans alike. Bring the family, bring your board, and see what the day has in store.

CHANNEL:  Small thigh high peaks are making their way through every now and then as lulls are to be expected with a dying south. A small focus group is congregating in front of the groin pole making things happen today. Seadrift has a few rights breaking, but as for now, it is probably not the call. Middle channel is silent this morning, but may pick up once the tide shifts a bit more.

PATCH:   Near glassy conditions top off the waist high waves rolling in this morning. A large crowd of about 20 logs and 5 SUPs with one kayak are gliding and sliding from way outside the meeting rock to the inside Snags shorebreak. Not all waves are connecting, but post up on the inside or outside peak and you are bound to get waves. All rocks are covered right now and the tide is still coming in, but still be aware of what lurks below your board as less water this afternoon will re-expose those fiendish rocks.

Daily Surf Report - 9/20/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“The earth has music for those who listen.” - George Santayana

Palpable energy and humidity off the charts.  Morning mist and calm conditions.  Peace and harmony rule the morning along with skunks, bats, bucks and vampires of the dawn patrol prowl.  Temp is 64F and sun is a mystery worth pondering.  S swell lingers and lulls around but still gives up a wave or two on its fading presence.  Worth a dip, as it always is.  Tides are good and surfing is on the menu today.

CHANNEL:  Peaks worth poking at and small waves to ride today.  An UN-official meeting of fishing kayaks have joined the lineup and are making for interesting interactions.  Surfers however are lining up lefts to surf in the thigh high size with inconsistent results.  Incoming tide push helping out for now and waves are spread out a bit through the region and over towards Seadrift.  A total head count of 12 now with more contemplating the fishing vs. the surfing.

PATCH:  Flowing robes, grace, eminence - overall a striking combo of factors shaping up in the Patch this morning.  Tropically warm water and glassy surfaces.  Well downtown and outside of most rocks is where the jams are.  Waist high rights with workable faces and long rides abundant for the single-fin aficionado.  S swell sets percolate then eventually pulse with chest high goodness from afar.  Inside waves shaping up with more water and some navigation is required as the rocks remain just covered up.  Mind your tootsies here and there but get a few racy waves to the beach while you are at it.

Daily Surf Report - 9/19/2014

CLOSING EARLY - 4:30pm.  STAFF MEETING.
WE WILL BE OPEN AT 9am ON SATURDAY MORNING.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”  - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Calm and chill with coastal overcast and light fog this morning.  Humidity still up and temp is 61F.  Sunshine predicted and should be out by noon-ish.  Swell is still here and cleaned up and leaned up a bit.  Smooth, glassy, user-friendly surf today with still the juice that let's us know Fall is coming.  Water remains tropically warm so get on it today as it won't last forever.

CHANNEL:  Consistent lefts off the Groin bar running waist high + and holding shape and form.  Logg-able / egg-able / fish-able / paipo-able surf today that is smooth and ready for ripping.  Incoming tide still pushing up and giving plenty of water to work with.  Deeper Channel lefts and over towards Seadrift still delivering as well but not as clean as the Groin.  Still plenty to go around and the lineup is growing at the moment.  No wind and good vibrations.

PATCH:  Still multi-peaked and performing well.  Inside rights are waist high or better and with lots of water ride-able all the way to the sand.  Performance inside wave suitable for all boards this morning.  Well outside and journeying towards Green-Afrika there are lots of smooth waves of varying sizes and directions.  Generally speaking waist to shoulder high and relatively consistent.  High tide late morning may swamp it out but surf should hold through the day and into tomorrow at least.  Surfers and SUPpers on it now and more on the way.

Daily Surf Report - 9/18/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."  John Muir

Balmy at 65F and some weather in town as well.  Swell grows with stormy activity and winds blow offshore / sideshore this morning.  Churning waters, swirling waters but still plenty of size and juice for surfing today.  Prepare to actually duck-dive this morning as waves are coming in all directions and in all shapes and sizes as well.  Not clean but plenty out there for surfboard riding adventures today.  Not for amateurs and know your own limits as well.

CHANNEL:  Chest to head high surf off the Groin pole and over in the Channel proper.  Lots of moving water and shifting peaks to navigate but rideable on the right waves.  Size and energy today and shortboardable.  Not too clean but worth paddling out for and getting a few today.  4-6 surfers clustered at the Groin now with more suiting up.  Depending on wind and weather could clean up into the afternoon.

PATCH:  Multiple wave spots in the Patch this morning.  Spread out and smoother than the Channel but not really organized.  Storm activity has things kicked up a few notches and S swell continues to grow.  Most boards will work here today and size is waist the shoulder high or better.  About 12 in the water now and spread out all over the area.

Daily Surf Report - 9/17/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"life is simple , but we insist on making it complicated" Confucius

Corgi Puppy Cam is Live Folks!

The overcast has not dampened the south swell this morning. The good stuff in in town so come get it.  Seeing is believing. Today should shape up to be one of those days that we talk about for the rest of the year. Current outside temp is 65F. Yesterday temp topped out at 83F with the surf just improving as the day rolled along. Fall is upon our little piece of heaven.

CHANNEL: Waist to head high waves with the occasional slight over head rolling through the middle channel to the groin pole. Beautiful smooth water this morning as the sun works to break through the marine layer. Size should improve throughout the day.

PATCH: The patch is going off this morning. Chest high to over head. Smooth consistent sets rolling in . Long boards short boards and SUPers out today. Everybody getting rides with waves to spare. The spot to be this morning.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:

Daily Surf Report - 9/15/2014

Well people, lake Bolinas is nice and glassy this morning with very little rolling in. More of a day to sit and meditate on the hope of a swell. Hopefully the conditions pick up with the changing tide as did yesterday afternoon. Weather temp this morning is 57f with a slight cloud cover over our little patch of heaven. Expected to heat up later today so bring your shorts and sun glasses to the beach today. Expect surf later in the week as another hurricane is building off of Baja.

CHANNEL: Small with the vary occasional knee high left in front of the groin pole. Not much in the middle channel and over in the sea drift side. Keep your fingers crossed for improvement later today.

PATCH: Boy oh boy. Whole lot of nothing going on in the patch. A few people out soaking with the occasional ankle glider rolling through. Hope is the word of the day.

Daily Surf Report - 9/14/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"We do not remember days, we remember moments” - Cesare Pavese

Corgi Puppy Cam is Live Folks!

The ocean couldn't grace us with glassier conditions this morning, nor could it grace us with any swell. The horizon is a spectacle to behold as it is crystal clear and stretches as far as the eye can see, almost clear enough to see the Farallons. High cloud bank is holding in the cooler air as it is 60F as of now, but bound to heat up as the sun is already trying its best to break through. As for the surf, it is lake Bolinas out there with occasional waves in the ankle range coming through. Hopefully later today we can expect improvement with a different tide. If today isn't to your liking, stay tuned later this week as another hurricane is forming down off Baja and should be making swell push on up here in the midweek.

CHANNEL: Smallest of small ankle high sets rolling through infrequently in front of the groin pole. Not much in the middle channel or over on Seadrift. Keep your fingers crossed for a better tide and some more push later today.

PATCH:  Not a ripple as the tide is starting to go back out to a moderate high Low tide. Occasional lump rolls through that may or may not break on its way to the inside. Great spot to meditate and channel your inner peace this morning.

Daily Surf Report - 9/13/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"In order to understand the world, one has to turn away from it on occasion.” -Albert Camus

Glassy and calm.  Crystalline clear with views to the razor sharp horizon.  Unblemished by a ripple or undulation.  Get too close and fall off the edge of humanity.  Flat as far as the eyes can see.  Lowering tide and soft swell has it on government shutdown for surfing exploits at the moment.  Buoys show meager NW windswell and fading S swell that has given us a few waves during the day but this morning NOT.  Temp is 61F with coastal overcast and no wind.  Sun will appear and shine brightly soon and the day will be beautiful.  Exceed you expectations in other pursuits today and hope for better surfing conditions in the near future.

CHANNEL:  Only the small NW windswell to generate surf this morning and what it is offering up is less than knee high and choppy lefts off the groin bar.  1 SUP on it doing whatever SUPs do on flat days.  Possibly later today on the incoming tide push we might see something a little more recognizable as a surfing wave but now for the desperadoes and weekend warriors only.  Perfect conditions for beginners!!

PATCH:  Seamlessly flat without a bump or lump to gaze upon.  Long, lonely lulls from which to contemplate the meaning of life and wait for the ocean to gurgle up a rideable wave.  Get out there and make it happen.  Conjure up the spirits beneath and ask for something more.  Give back two-fold and you may be rewarded now.  No takers and set waves detonate at ankle high.
