Welcome to the last day of March. As of 3 pm the storm has arrived with high winds and heavy rain. I will probably close early, by 4 pm, so please call first if you need to come by.

Surf:
Swell is from the west/northwest and it is around knee to waist high average. It's not organized and there's lots of stormy texture. Everyone was on a longboard this morning, but because of the windy storm, there are no surfers out right now.

Partly cloudy skies with some sun in between. Side shore winds 5-15 mph.

Surf:
There's a small long period swell from the west/northwest. Looks choppy right now before 10 am and smaller than yesterday with the channel 1 to 2 feet and the patch at about a foot.(Hard to judge this morning as there is no on out yet.) As the tide fills in it may pick up. I'll update this.

Happy full moon Monday! The rain has stopped this afternoon but no sun yet, and there's still some onshore/south wind. Please call if you are planning to come by as I may close by 4 if this weather does not clear.

Surf:
Disorganized and breaking close to shore. The small swell is from the west at 4 feet, but it's not looking great right now. There were 2/3 footers earlier, but now it is smaller at 1 to 2 feet.

Tides:
Low of 0.1' at 5:28 am
High of 5.6' at 11:56 am
Low of 0.5' at 5:36 pm

Daily Surf Report - 3/28/2010

Sunny skies with a little patchy clouds that is burning off with lots blue showing through. Mild temps and nice weather expected to continue for the next few days. Stop waiting around and come out to the beach.

A few swell lines on the horizon producing surf in the thigh to waist high range. Surf at the Patch is ride-able on a longboard and there are rights breaking out there. Surf at the Groin / Channel is ride-able on a longboard or something shorter like a fish and has some nice rights breaking into the Channel. Water is smooth with no wind on it.

Nice, sunny morning, mild temps. Light winds out out the NW. Looks to be a great day to get out to the beach.

There is one surfer in the water there. Surf at the Groin is rideable on a longboard or something shorter and is waist high with some nice rights breaking into the Channel. Looks fun!

Daily Surf Report - 3/26/2010

Glorious, sunny morning with mild temps already. No wind, glassy and calm conditions. Looks to be a great day and coming weekend to get out to the beach.

We still have a little bit of swell in the water with the remains of the long period N and S swells. Surf at the Patch is rideable on a longboard and is thigh to waist high. There are about 10 surfers in the water there. Surf at the Groin is rideable on a longboard or something shorter and is waist high with some nice rights breaking into the Channel. Ocean surface is smooth and the surf is fun.

Slight overcast with some rain last night. Clearing skies with patches of sun shining through. Calm winds and predicted mild temps. for the next few days.

As of 12:30: Mostly sunny skies with some clouds, wind has kicked up side/onshore at about 8-10 mph.

Surf:
Combo small long period swell from north and southwest. Little texture. The channel has become smaller with the outgoing tide at knee high. The patch is picking up with waist high sets.

Another beautiful day here in paradise. After 2pm now and side shore wind has picked up a bit. This has cause some bump on the faces. We still have gorgeous sunny skies.

Surf:
The swell went north guys, it has missed us. Surf was tiny this morning as tide was dropping, and now as of 2pm we have a little more to work with. The channel and patch are nice with knee to waist high sets. So bring that longboard!

Sunny skies today with a consistent south eastern wind at about 10 to 15 mph.

Surf:
The swell is from the south. The groin and patch look around 1 to 2 feet right now and there's about 3 guys out. The channel looks a bit smaller. Great beginner day, bring your longboards!

Good Morning, not much in the way of surf this morning, may pick up a little with the tide. Currently overcast skies with a slight offshore breeze. Mild temps. Looks like the sun will probably burn through the high clouds.

There are currently 12 surfers in the water, concentrated outside the patch. Inconsistent surf is in the thigh high range, definitely a longboard day.

Daily Surf Report - 3/20/2010

Happy 1st day of spring. We have slightly overcast skies but there are patches of blue and the sun is starting to come through in some spots. Light side shore breeze. Still expecting mild temps and sun through the weekend. This is going to be a nice beach weekend in early spring!


First dose of a small south swell is in the water. Few minute interval between wave sets. Surf at the Patch is in the waist high range with rights and lefts. Surf at the Boat Ramp is knee high and there are surfers there as well. Surf on the Seadrift side of the Channel has waist high rights breaking and there are a few surfers on that peak.

Again we have sunny skies, calm and glassy conditions. Mild temps expected to hit the 70s through the weekend. This is going to be a nice beach weekend in early spring!


Surf at the Patch is in the waist high range and smooth. Bring a long board and catch some rights and lefts. Surf on the Seadrift side of the Channel has waist high rights breaking and there are a few surfers on that peak.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Clear sunny skies, another warm and glorious day in Bo. There's a nice side shore breeze.

More glassy surf today...the swell is from the W/NW and looks much like it did yesterday. It's 3' to 4' on average and smooth with occasional sets coming through the channel/groin area at waist to shoulder high. Patch is bit smaller at 1 to 2'. I'll update this afternoon with any changes in conditions.

Mixed bag today with surf in the waist to shoulder high range at the Boat Ramp and Channel. Daily Surf Report - 3/11/2010

Clear skies this morning with current cool temps, sunny and no wind. It should end up being a nice day.

New little pulse of swell in the water and the surf is in the waist high range at the Boat Ramp, Graphitti Wall and the Patch. Channel is breaking a little smaller and inside towards Mali-Bo. Sunny skies this morning. Offshore breeze. 50 degrees, but the breeze makes it feel colder.

Surf: There's longboardable waves out there in the channel. Averaging knee high this afternoon. The outside patch is 2-3 ft., sometimes an occasional set will be larger.

No more clear and sunny skies today, as of 2 pm we have overcast. We have that same offshore wind as yesterday, which is gusting up to 20 mph.

Surf: There's longboardable waves out there in the channel at 1 to 2 feet. The intervals between those sets are a few minutes. The patch was more flat to one foot. Even at low tide this afternoon, the waves look the same and it's breaking close to shore.

Mostly cloudy with passing showers and even hale. 50 degrees and windy. Offshore 10 mph average and gusts up to 20 mph. from the east, supposed to be windy all day.

Surf: Swell is from the northwest. Right now the tide is already pretty low, there's lots of beach and the channel looks to be in the 1 to 2 ft. range. One surfer told me it was averaging waist to shoulder high at 8 am but when the wind picked up it was closing out. The patch looks also around 1 to 2 ft right now after 10 am. So bring a longboard. As of 3:35 pm we still have 1 to 2 ft. waves.

Rainy morning, cleared for a while and poured rain again by 1 pm. It's dark and cloudy now. 51 degrees.

Surf: Swell is smaller than yesterday, bring the longboard. It looks around knee high on average (2-3 ft.)in the channel with sets breaking close to shore and 1 to 2 ft. in the patch. Lots of texture on the water due to some south wind, so it is choppy.

Surf:
As the tide lowers it has cleaned up a bit. The channel and groin are about waist high, but the sets are super close together. The patch is much smaller at 1-2 ft.

Surf: Cleaner than yesterday. The channel is knee to hip high on average. Patch is smaller, bring the longboard. There are occasional sets that come through that are bigger.
