Daily Surf Report - 8/19/2011

Foggy, misty, drizzly, gloomy morning? I say no. I see a smooth ocean and calm winds. I feel a temp of 55F. Who needs sun when the steep angle south swell is still showing.

The swell still remains, and there are again rideable waves breaking in glassy conditions. The tide is mid most of the day so water levels are good. There are surfers in the water and waves to be had.

Channel: About 8 surfers and 2 SUPs in the water. There are waves reeling along the groin bar. Left in the thigh high range + and long rides to the inside. Bring a longboard to have the best results.

Patch: There are small, knee high waves breaking on the inside. They are rideable and the incoming tide will help as well. 2 surfers on out logs at this time.

Check out the trailer for our friend Doug Walker's new surf movie "Lost and Found" It will be premiering at the NYC Surf Film Fest in September and is a great piece of surfing history that should not be missed.
