Daily Surf Report - 3/22/2013

Third day of spring much nicer than the first. Another sunny and windless morning with a glassy ocean and a bit of rideable surf! Air temp coming in at 46 degrees and brisk but nice weather is on tap for the next few days. Ocean a bit chill with water temp down to 50F so bring the booties. Fun day to surf and great for beginners as well.

CHANNEL: Early morning product testing session with Jambear Hambear and single-fin/fingle-spin Walt. Alternative equipment in the water at MaliBo rights with foamie paipos, Mega-Simmons and eggs all catching lots of fun waves. Lots of sand built up on the beach so watch for the quick approaching shore and crash landings in the closeouts. Size runs thigh high but enough energy to get up and riding and make some turns. Seadrift also delivering waves in the waist high size with about 8-10 longboarders on it early. Good stuff today.

PATCH: Inside Patch slow to wake up today but incoming tide may give that extra push. Lots of wall watchers in the Peanut Gallery this morning giving it the stink eye and waiting for the right moment to suit up. Big logs will work and patience will be rewarded. A few occasionally break outside and if you can get in the rides are long. High tide covers rocks and keeps the landings soft. Looks like a nice day to ride waves.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.
