David Vernor, the man behind Vernor surfboards, will be in the shop this Saturday, 3/16/2013, from 10am to 12pm. This is a great opportunity to talk boards and design with a local shaper. Dave will bring a few new shapes including the Pitbull and Silver Bullet 2. Come by to talk surf or browse the rack of in-stock boards. We have Mini Simmons, shortboards, hybrids, eggs, Mini-Mals, HP longboards and Classic Noseriders in the shop. Always hand-made from start to finish in Santa Cruz.
Goodmorning everyone and welcome to another week of wave sliding realities. The fog has cleared and the sun is out and the air temp is buzzing in at around 45 degrees but it'll warm up a bit more as the day rolls on. The surf is available for the taking though the tide is marching in so get it while the going is bueno. Great day for beginners and old salty dogs alike.
CHANNEL: It's about waist-to-occasional-under-chest at Le Channel this morning but section-y as all get out. The Mali-Bo bar is working somewhat BUT only occasionally, so the surfer with the selective eye will get the clean right hand glide. There looks to be a right blowing through on the Sea Drift side as well and can be ridden but with the same care as the mali-Bo Bar. No takers as I write this.
PATCH: Waist (+/-) coming through the outside, middle and inside of the Clam Patch this morning that are glassy and a few will roll without a section-y flaw to be had. Naturally, with the incoming tide it's better to get on it before lunch time as it will be a swampy lake without the mosquitos. Twelve (12) boards-of-length and Janitor equipment enjoying the high-gloss shine.
