Daily Surf Report - 7/4/2014

Super Limited / 1 Day Only / Holiday Special Hours Today:
9am - 3pm with last rental at noon.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“We must be free not because we claim freedom, but because we practice it”  - William Faulkner

Uninvited guest here to spoil the party.  S winds have arrived and it does not bode well for surfing conditions.  Overcast and very breezy morning with temps at 54F.  NW windswell and the start of the S swell in play but getting knocked down and out by the winds at this time.  The bunting is out all over town and the holiday festivities will still reign supreme but the watery endeavors may suffer today overall.  Always hold on to the truth.  Don't let others sway your heart.  Don't compromise yourself for the sake of temporal groovyness.  Be separate from the crowd that is awash with normality by standing on a firm foundation.  Never waver in your love or faith, and in all you do, please be true.

CHANNEL:
Tide is OK and there is activity in the water but the S winds are having their way right now and tearing it up.  NW windswell showing itself at the Groin pole rights and on Channel lefts but the waves are choppy and sectiony at best right now.  Size has potential to reach waist high but with the tide heading low and the winds on it stiffly it does not look like much surfing activity will occur here today.  Plenty of wall and beach jockeys giving it the stink eye but no one has ventured to put on a suit yet.

PATCH:   A bit protected from the winds but still feeling the effects.  Not stopping those determined to get wet from exploring the area and finding knee to thigh high rights that are nearly surfable.  A few SUPs and logs in the water making the most of the holiday experience and getting some exercise before the Tug of War begins in earnest.  Find a wave if you are so inclined and if the wind stops and the S fills in this spot will be a gem today.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT.
Respect the Beach.
