Closing early. Will re-open tomorrow at 10AM.
Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe." -Frank Zappa
Good
morning to all of you bipeds of the brine. It's another foggy and overcast morning here at the beach. The temperature is sulking in at 53 degrees as the birds are staying home with sweaters on. Yeah, it's a bit chilly but that can change much later in the day. Not too much left of any swell... it's almost window glassy conditions but not a lot to glide upon. As always, if the conditions change for the positive I will most certainly note that positive change right here. If not, I won't.
CHANNEL: Do you remember when the Chicago Bears played the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in the mid-1980's? Then you may remember when Bears coach, Mike Ditka, in a bizarre exhibit of classless one-upmanship, let lineman William 'The Fridge' Perry bust in a touchdown from the one yard line instead of giving that honor to one of the greatest running backs in the history of the NFL, Walter Payton. Walter's ONLY Super Bowl appearance, too. That just wasn't right. Why am I bringing this unrelated-to-surfing anecdotal observation to view? Because nothing is happening at the Channel and that just isn't right either. One (1) janitor board buffing the floors way over at Sea Drift.
PATCH: Occasional thigh high slow pokes burping over the very middle of the Clam Patch that sometimes break, sometimes not. Sometimes they go all the way to shore, sometimes maybe twenty yards and then dissipate back into depths. Four (4) longboards out there right now as desperation knows no bounds.
PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT.
