“Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, and sometimes your smile is the source of your joy.”- Thich Nhat Hanh
Sunrise over the hills with perfectly crystal clear skies. Nothing but blue now and a Bo-beautiful start to the day. Now it is 51F - later it will be warmer and still magical. Find your secret bench and disappear. Observe the town from above and wonder at your powers. Morning incoming high tide push is starting to swamp things out a bit. Only NW windswell in the water so not much energy behind the waves but enough to get your longboard going. Get it now or wait till the tide recedes as it will be a bit too high soon. Water up the ramp and ins and outs off the seawall make for fun entrance and exits. Mind your toes and tread quickly.
CHANNEL: Inside Mali-BO potential when the direction is just right. Only thigh high but when it jumps up off the Groin wall it is rideable on an egg. Add some toast and remember breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Surf now and work later. Deep, deep Channel and over towards Seadrift is the better wave and is good for longboards. Bring lots of foam for the paddle and high tide conditions. Make like Lewis and Clark and journey across to the Stinson side to explore new realms of possibilities. Wave size is almost waist high. They are slow and soft but can be ridden. Go right young man for best results. About 8 in the water over here.
PATCH: Tide too high and swell direction not helping. Kayaks, SUPs, prone paddleboards, canoes and the like are all heading to the Patch for a nice round of paddling exercise. Not much in terms of waves to ride now but check back later after the tide has switched around.
PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT.
