Daily Surf Report - 8/9/2013

Overcast, coastal cloudiness starts today with morning temp of 57F and very calm conditions.  Sun is a mystery right now but yesterday it was out early and in full force.  No wind and super smooth ocean.  By super smooth we also mean flat.  Just localized wind swell right now but potential S swell hope is on the buoys and may be on the way up.  Bring a big board and a positive attitude and you can ride waves with the seawall crew today.

 

 

CHANNEL:   Fully exposed sand bars right now yielding non-surfable conditions.  Almost knee high lefts breaking in almost 6" of water.  More tide is required and may help but don't expect too much from this spot today.  Empty line up now but expect 40 kids soon. 

 

 

PATCH:  Smooth and glassy but very small to flat.  Periodic rollers at the meeting rock starting to break, reforming, rolling inside and dying.  Big logs can make this work and the surfers eyeing it are trying to rustle up the motivation to be first in the water.  Scamper right on by and get wet.  Have a solo session and enjoy the solitude.  Waves will come and you will ride.  Knee high +

Adult Surf Camp will be offered from August 12th to August 15th for $320 per person. Camp will last from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm and will include over 3 hours of instruction per day. Students will receive instruction on the beach and in the water and have the opportunity to surf both of the breaks in Bolinas in a range of tides and conditions. Adult Surf camps are the perfect way to quickly improve your surfing skills or learn the basics. Camp size is kept small (4 to 6 people) to ensure students receive the personal attention needed to improve. Advanced registration is required to attend and you can sign up HERE.  Surf equipment (board, wetsuit and boots) will be available to rent from the 2 Mile Surf Shop for your clinic and will be $50/day
