Daily Surf Report - 8/11/2013

SUN has arrived!! 
No wind and temp is 57F.  Should see sun as overcast is high and there are spots trying to burn through.  Still meager surf offerings as small swell conditions and low tide are in play right now.  Afternoons have been loggable and weather has been nice so the beach may be the place to spend your Sunday.

 

 

CHANNEL:   Fully exposed sand bars this morning as peak LOW tide occurs.  Only 2 surfers currently in the water and the surf does look better than yesterday which means it is rideable on the outside Channel bar with a longboard.  Size is thigh high but the left has a bit of shape and can be ridden.  More water with the incoming tide can only help so giddy up and get wet.   Inside Groin left is a work of perfection yet only 1' in height.  Peels and reels for 100 yards but not enough juice to get a surfboard going.  Nice to watch and mind-surf it.  Seals and pelicans out and about in force.

 

 

PATCH:  Shallow conditions and rocky as well.  Small inside right working on the sandy side of things and knee high in size.  2 are in the water and more will follow.  Incoming tide throughout the day will give this spot potential for cruisable waves.  Keep an open eye and mind today and come to the Patch.  Bring the BIGGEST board.

Adult Surf Camp will be offered from August 12th to August 15th for $320 per person. Camp will last from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm and will include over 3 hours of instruction per day. Students will receive instruction on the beach and in the water and have the opportunity to surf both of the breaks in Bolinas in a range of tides and conditions. Adult Surf camps are the perfect way to quickly improve your surfing skills or learn the basics. Camp size is kept small (4 to 6 people) to ensure students receive the personal attention needed to improve. Advanced registration is required to attend and you can sign up HERE.  Surf equipment (board, wetsuit and boots) will be available to rent from the 2 Mile Surf Shop for your clinic and will be $50/day
