Daily Surf Report - 8/29/2013

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:“A diamond is just a piece of charcoal that handled stress exceptionally well.”
 - Cameron Frye

High coastal clouds with hints of blue sky.  Calm and pleasant at 62F.  No wind and an actual wave to ride in the Channel.  Not a mind-surf wave but an actual paddle into, stand up, turn, trim and ride type of wave the likes we haven't seen a quite a while.  Get on it while it lasts.

CHANNEL: Thigh high + rollers that are rideable.  In the Channel proper with rights and lefts scattered about.  NOT epic but definitely a real wave even if small.  Will get the longboard moving and there are about 8-10 in the water now.  Mid tide levels all day so enough water to keep that good feeling going.  Compared to the recent conditions this is a very welcome sight.

PATCH: More W in the current buoy readings has small waves breaking but mostly lefts in direction.  Only will work if you have the biggest of boards as size is knee high or slightly better.

The second annual Mill Valley Surf Film Festival is coming up, Sept 13th and 14th at the Sweetwater in downtown Mill Valley. Tickets are on sale now. Looks like a solid lineup this year with Mason Jennings and Rogue Wave playing sets after the films each night.
