Daily Surf Report - 1/8/2011

12:45pm Update:
Sun is gone and fog is in. Surf is still good and Patch is picking up with more tide.

Beautiful, clear, sunny morning with light off shore winds still grooming up the waves. Current temp is a balmy 42F. Light fog on the mountains but clear in town. Ocean surface is a little textured but mostly smooth and nice.

Channel/Groin: Still very rideable surf with rights in the Channel and on the Seadrift side and lefts off the sandbars at the Groin. Size has come down but is waist to chest high and still very fun. If you are a good paddler shorter boards will work but longboards are doing best today.

Patch: Working in the waist high range + again today. There are longboarders and SUPs out there now catching waves outside and midway as well. It is a nice surf and weather day so come on out to the beach.
