Daily Surf Report - 12/30/2011

Overcast, misty, fog and humidity. Also NW swell in the water delivering surf to both locations. Still have smooth and glassy ocean conditions. No sun to speak of and probably won't come out. Who cares - there are waves to ride.
54F, no wind - 97% humidity.

Crowds have returned with the Channel having about 20 surfers and the Patch supporting about 10. Dropping tide is improving conditions now. Still have some decent shorebreak as well - good for the handplane, surf mat or boogie board.

Channel: Waist to Chest high on the sets and clean on the deep bar. Getting consistent on the inside with outer sets worth the wait. Tide swings will cause changes all day. Longboards and a few shorter and mid-sized boards in the lineup. Fun stuff.

Patch: Thigh to Waist high and again all over the place. Breaking way outside then burgering out. Reforms in the middle and rolls through, then breaks fairly well on the inside. Nice slopey wave with lots of potential to walk the nose, glide and trim. Still enough water covering most of the rocks. A bit more shape and push today.

Look what Santa just delivered. A 3-pack of Vernor Silver Bullets. Take the wave catching ability of the Mini Simmons and add a high performance shortboard nose to get vertical. Take your surfing to the next level. We have 5.8 / 5.10 / 6.0 in the shop!

Just a reminder to pack your trash!!! PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.
