Daily Surf Report - 1/1/2016

Inspirational Quote Of The Day:
"Don't count the days.  Make the days count." - Muhammad Ali

Denizens of the deep and those that never sleep ringing in the New Year with resolute determination.  All free space occupied by mobile locals with alternative living quarters spilling over into the realm of sensibility.  Lowlands show a heavy freeze with crackling temps into the low 20s.  Coastal reality has clear skies and a rising sun with conflicted wind gusts that have temps on the rise and currently 38F.  Textured tops as NE puffs swirl sand and spray though not keeping the devoted away from their rituals.  Take a centered deep breath.  Hold.  Release.  Now dive into the ocean and allow the year to begin.

CHANNEL:  Heavy with hope as a steeper NW swell begins to build.  Tidal tendencies have water levels a bit on the full side.  Clear and crisp with welcoming water temps that exceed the air level degrees significantly.  Less than perfect and finding better results in the deeper Channel region.  Bumps breaching both right and left with shorter rides than desired but slides nonetheless.  Jump in and wash it all off.  Begin anew as the calendar page has turned for the better.

PATCH:  A cautious crowd of the misguided and sanctioned mingle as holiday revelers mix with weekday regulars.  Worlds collide as it all comes together on this Day 1 of 2016.  A veritable plethora of minimalistic waves seems to be working in the general direction of the upper thigh.  There's a force in the universe that makes things happen. And all you have to do is get in touch with it, stop thinking, let things happen, and be the ball.
