Daily Surf Report - 8/1/2012

It's a new month and a brand-new day, kids. The surf is in the thigh range today but our pesky nemesis, the on-shore wind is back as well. It's not too strong so there is a bit of texture on the water but the wave is still holding up. As this negative low tide begins to creep up this morning it should start hitting the right sand bars and in the right key to keep you doing everything from The Funky Chicken to the Robot and all the dances in-between.
Overcast skies now but yesterday the sun made a late appearence and the temp went once again into the low 80's. The air temp is currently 54 degrees. Bring a big board. Conditions look good enough for renting gear and learning how to surf.

Channel: Middle bar and that "Groin pole-to-the-Boat ramp" is working at the thigh high range inspite of an on-shore. Empty line-up at the moment.

Patch: Relatively flat but wait long enough and a wave will show up with this in-coming tide. This has been the call later in the day. Great spot to hone the log-skills. Currently empty lineup.
