Daily Surf Report - 3/1/2012

1:00 pm Update:
Sunshine and light winds. Possibly a bit cleaner and still thigh to waist in the Channel.

Misty moistness and almost raining. Overcast with moderate on shore winds and drizzle. Temp. currently 50F. You could surf if you wanted and a couple of people are in the Channel.

There is a crowd of 2 currently in the water. Might be something headed our way in the next day or two but today is windswell surf.

Channel: Sandbars are good and firm and when a wave comes from the right direction it breaks and is rideable going both left and right. Size looks to be about waist high and there are 2 longboarders out giving it a try.

Patch: Pieces and parts of windswell here. Not the most appealing conditions. Knee high on the inside waves.

New logs in the shop. Resin tinted and Volan cloth - a classic combination. Big wide noses and fins. Soft, buttery rails to cruise, glide and trim. These are both 10.0' and were shaped by master craftsman, Bob Miller, out of Santa Cruz. These are the last coming out of his shaping bay for a while as he is sailing off to warmer waters. If you want a board to rule the Patch come take a look.

Just a reminder to pack your trash!!! PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

Tides:

High: 4:51 am 5.2'
Low: 12:16 pm 0.9'
High: 7:56 pm 3.9'
