Daily Surf Report - 1/1/2012

Wishing everyone the best in 2012!

Start the New Year off right with a surf today. We will be open for regular business hours from 10am - 5pm.

Today is the first day to kick off your goals for the New Year.
Surf more and work less? Work harder and surf better? Try a new board design? Work on your cross step? Whatever goals you set for yourself, now is the time to reach them.

Again - sunny, clear and warm. 56F with very stiff NE winds blowing around 15-20 knots. Bring your heavy glassed board to get in and stay on waves. Lots of offshore spray today and waves still remain. Overnight wind has textued the ocean but there are still rideable waves at both spots and the sun is shining brightly.

Channel: Surf still in the waist to chest high size. Very strong wind requires bigger board to get into the waves and stay on as well. Longboards will fare best today. Swell still remains and waves have push. Both bars working and the rights at Seadrift as well. Tide swings will cause changes all day.

Patch: A bit smaller today but still waves in the waist high range. The middle is still working best and cleanest and the inside is rideable as well. Big logs can grab the way outside waves before they mush out. There is enough water covering most of the inside rocks for longer rides.

Just a reminder to pack your trash!!! PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

Tides:
High: 5:17 am 5.5'
Low: 12:08 pm 1.6'
High: 6:10 pm 3.6'

We are now open daily from 10am - 5pm for our Winter hours from NOVEMBER through APRIL. Come out to rent if you need gear. We have a full selection of suits, boots, boards and SUPs to rent every day and are only 522 steps to the beach.
