LARGE LONG PERIOD SWELL WILL MOVE THROUGH THE OPEN WATERS AND IS EXPECTED TO REACH CENTRAL AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WATERS BY LATE TODAY OR TONIGHT. THIS LONG PERIOD SOUTHERLY SWELL WILL RESULT IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS ON MANY SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES ALONG THE CALIFORNIA COAST...SUCH AS STINSON BEACH IN MARIN COUNTY AND AREAS ALONG THE BIGSUR COASTLINE. BREAKER HEIGHTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AROUND 4 TO 5 FEET WITH MAX SETS TO 7 FEET OR MORE. THESE HAZARDS INCLUDE A HEIGHTENED RISK OF RIP CURRENTS...LARGE SHORE BREAK ON STEEPBEACHES AND POSSIBLE SNEAKER WAVES WHICH COULD WASH AN UNSUSPECTING BEACH GOER INTO THE OCEAN. THESE CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN POSSIBLE INTO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND SO PLEASE USE CAUTIONWHEN VISITING CALIFORNIA BEACHES THIS HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

Cooler morning with current temp of 52F. Sun is already out and we will be seeing temps into the 70s through the weekend. The ocean has cleaned up and swell is still in the water with good energy.

Channel: Lefts off the Channel bar at shoulder high +. Waves are broad and sectioned but some at the Groin connect all the way to the inside. Shorter boards are working but bigger boards are paddling better right now.

Patch: About waist to chest high and still with scattered peaks. Rights and lefts abound. Longboards and SUPs are in the water catching waves all over the area. Not super clean but an improvement from yesterday.

Boat Ramp: Waves breaking out front in the chest high + size here as well. Part of the broader waves rolling through from the Groin but are catchable and rideable today.
