Daily Surf Report - 9/16/2011

1:00pm Update:
Nice sunshine, light winds, small waves.

Mild, overcast and light S winds. Current temp is 56F. Sun starting to shine through over the southern Marin hills. Small residual south swell still giving us some rideable waves today.

Channel: Intermittent peaks with rights and lefts scattered on the Channel bar and the Seadrift side. Size is thigh high + and there are longboarders and SUPs catching waves right now. Groin showing a few peaks as well but smaller.

Patch: Still a little low tide-ish but that is changing for the positive. Should start to improve with more water but there are still inside rights in the knee to thigh high size. Get your afternoon surf here.

In-store Shaper Event:
David Vernor, the man behind Vernor surfboards, will be in the shop this Saturday, 9/17/2011, from 11am to 1pm. This is a great opportunity to talk boards and design with a local shaper. Come by to talk surf or browse the rack of in-stock boards. We have Mini Simmons, shortboards, hybrids, eggs, Mini-Mals, HP longboards and Classic Noseriders in the shop. Always hand-made from start to finish in Santa Cruz.

Just a reminder to pack your trash!!! PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.
