Daily Surf Report - 9/15/2011

2:30pm Update:
Sun came out, as expected. Temp up to 72F. Calm, mellow and loggable.

Today we have calm and overcast skies with very light wind and a current temp of 56F. Should be a mellow day in town with small and smooth waves to be had at both spots as the tide changes.

Channel: Sandbars are set up again and waiting for a nice NW swell. For now there are regular waves in the waist high size at the Channel bar. 4 longboards and an SUP on the Seadrift side catch glassy waves.

Patch: Currently a little low tide-ish but that is changing for the positive. Should start to improve with more water but there are still inside rights in the thigh high range. Get you afternoon surf here.

In-store Shaper Event:
David Vernor, the man behind Vernor surfboards, will be in the shop this Saturday, 9/17/2011, from 11am to 1pm. This is a great opportunity to talk boards and design with a local shaper. You can work out a custom order or browse the rack of in-stock boards. We have Mini Simmons, shortboards, hybrids, eggs, Mini-Mals, HP longboards and Classic Noseriders in the shop. Always hand-made from start to finish in Santa Cruz.

Just a reminder to pack your trash!!! PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

Tides:
Low: 7:25 am 1.9'
High: 1:46 pm 5.6'
