Daily Surf Report - 10/28/2014

Clear and cool this morning as the sun rises over the sleeping lady to bring a little bit of warmth to down town BoBo. Outside temp this morning is a chilly 49F with a forecast in the low 70s today. Fall is upon us and soon the time will change. Today is a good day to just hang out and do what ever it is that you love. Mellow seas and flat surf greet us this morning, so bring a book or your hiking shoes out today and be ready to just chill.

CHANNEL:  Flat is the word of the day. Nothing going on in the channel or sea drift this morning. The current low tide has left us with nothing to ride. Lets hope for a change in conditions with the changing tide.

PATCH:  Same as the channel folks. Just a few rocks poking there heads up to take a look around.

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 4:30PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN AT 9AM TOMORROW.

The Byrd is the word today as only the seagulls are out dominating the peaks... or whatever you want to call the ripples coming through. Sunny and bright is the landscape as the light refracts through the crystals creating a magical scene to behold. Air temps are just hitting 50F and bound to heat up later today. Bring your stoke, family and friends, and maybe some hiking boots as the waves are expected to be swamped out with the tide and little to no swell. Whatever your choice is today, just enjoy the glory and wonder of mother nature. 

CHANNEL:  Flat, mushy ripples are home to a million bazillion byrds as the tide peaks low, yet acts as if it were a swamped high tide. Try the patch if anything today as the tide will only be coming in more.

PATCH: Small little rollers in the ankle to knee range are sweeping through fairly consistently. Only two SUPs out struggling to catch what is out there. Definitely bring your largest watercraft today and get here early before the high tide hits and swamps it out entirely.

Lean, clean and mean as the storm system has passed and the surf has cleaned up.  Nice touch of Fall as temps dip to 49F with light fog upon the hilltops.  No wind now and clear skies and sunshine greets the day.  Peaks a popping this morning and there is something for everyone today as the NW swell cranks back up.  Parking spots filling up and surfers frothing to get suits on.  Not EPIC conditions but good / fun waves for longboards and mid-lengths.  Lots of water and little beach as most sand has moved back into the ocean.  A beautiful day to be outside partaking in the natural wonders we are given.  Put a crystal in your pocket and explore the world today.  Make new friends and keep a smile on your face.

CHANNEL: Multi-peaked rollers today with concentration on the Groin bar and a bit to the north as well.  Peeling lets that approach waist high or better and can hold shape if you choose wisely.  Lots of short rides with sections to navigate but the cleaner ones will connect and reel to the beach.  Mid tides and higher all day so longboards are the better craft today.  Eggs can and do work on the inside so pick your board and suit up.



PATCH:  Plenty of Patch peaks from the storm and a NW swell drops in.  Surfers spread out all over as the higher tide has it working in various spots this morning.  Size will run waist high today and lots of rights worth the ride.  Smooth surface as winds have died and the overnite clean up crew has things in order.

Gusty winds bring a warm welcome to Bo this morning. Currently 61F but lots of wind turning the day cold. Wet Roads coming out due to a little over night sprinkle that was much needed. Bring your beanies and flannels, and maybe leave the board behind. Lots of water crashing in but nothing much to ride.

CHANNEL: Sloppy sloppy sloppy. Set after set coming in of slosh. Two surfers out at the moment, and paddling out will definitely be a struggle this morning. Conditions are rough but may settle a bit throughout the day.



PATCH: Nothing much showing out here today.  Busy waters with nothing to ride.  Nobody out as of now but we will see some brave souls soon.  Expect more calm conditions later in the day.

Daily Surf Report - 10/24/2014

Chill and chipper morning as temps dip to 52F yet the sun is out and skies are clear.  No wind and an overall minty fresh feeling envelops the day.  Outside activities should be a priority on the momentous Fall day and surfing can take place.  NW swell remains in play yet dropping in size and easing off in energy.  Still enough out there to get the glide going but please bring your longboard to have the right tool for the job.

CHANNEL:  Smooth and groovy rollers coming through at a thigh high + size.  Sectioning at times yet the good ones hold shape and allow for longer lefts past the Groin and towards the sand.  Low tide was not too low so enough water to make dreams a reality.  Seadrift not working as well today but there may be an unseen nook or cranny worth exploring.  About 8-10 in the water as the morning is beautiful with sunshine upon us.  


PATCH:  Good tide levels but swell is dropping.  Still some micro-sliders to work with and size is down to consistently knee high and soft.  The SUP clean up crew is on it en masse and some loggers as well.  Big boards will work and incoming tide will keep things covered up and workable on the inside.  For now it is outside waves intermittently and a peaceful calm on the water during the lulls.

Daily Surf Report - 10/23/2014

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 5:00PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN TOMORROW AT 9AM.

Shape shifting in the moonlight as darkness envelopes the early morning crew.  Figures in the water dancing upon the glassy rollers.  NW swell of a decent size, no wind and a temp of 57F get things off to a positive start.  Skies now streaky with Cumulus clouds and tinted pink and red.   A beautiful morning giving way to a positive day.  Serenity is where you find it and available NOW.

CHANNEL: Dropped in size but holding shape and waist high grinders peel off the Groin bar and reel towards shore.  A touch low tide in the early morning but already filling in and giving some push to the current pulse.  Best on a longboard yet some youthful shortboarders worked the inside sections before school.  Get a few this morning if you can as the water is warm and the ocean is glassy.


PATCH:  Waist high and shifty but worth chasing down.  NW swell angle has is working in a few spots on the outside area.  Size running waist high or better.  Smoothness prevails and racy and whomping on the inside.  Ladies Lefts is breaking off a little slide piece today so plenty to choose from on this glistening morning of goodness.  Low tide still has rocks covered but they lurk beneath so watch your tootsies and exit early when possible.

  A chill covers our little BoBo this morning. The sun is about to make an appearance and grace us with another beautiful fall day. Some clouds linger on the horizon as our day begins. 51F is the current outside temp with a forecast in the mid 70s today. This morning is shaping up to look pretty good. Looks like it is going to be a beautiful day in Bolinas, so bring your long boards and sun screen out to the beach today. 

CHANNEL: Chest high rollers peeling off into the middle channel and groin pole with nice shape. Sea drift looks a little washed out. Workable surf in the channel this morning. Bring your log.


PATCH:  Chest high waves rolling into the patch with workable faces and peaks. Great shape and looking like the place to be this morning. Lets hope the conditions stay good through the rest of the day.
