Daily Surf Report - 11/1/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"Positive anything is better than negative nothing."  - Elbert Hubbard

Welcome to November and remember to note our Fall/Winter shop operating hours have changed.  New NW swell is here with size and long period.  Not exactly hitting our little hamlet at the right angle so making for smaller surf than expected so far.  A decent contingent of hopeful surfers out there and on it early trying to keep the positive vibes flowing and find a sandbar that delivers.  Crispy cool at 49F with clear and dry skies this morning.  Magical with streaky clouds and a blistering sunrise to get the day started.  There is something for everyone today just keep an open mind to find it.

CHANNEL:  High tide just peaked and plenty of water to work with.  NW swell maybe a bit too much W in it so not finding the Groin bars as frequently as hoped for.  Still a smooth outside left to ride but a horde of surfers and SUPs are jockeying for position.  Try the inside lefts and Mali-Bo rights to beat the maddening crowd or paddle across the Channel to Seadrift and partake in unclaimed waves.  Size staying small in the almost waist high range.  Most of the action is in front of the stairway wall which is not a surf spot and has no sandbars either.  Outgoing tide may shift the focus but there are longboard waves to surf and the day is already magnificent in its beauty.  Oh, and in case anyone forgot - THE SF GIANTS WON THE WORLD SERIES AGAIN.

PATCH:  Only Russ and his trusted SUP out here this morning.  Pieces of potential wave action trying to make an appearance but the proper connections are not being made.  Knee to thigh high semi-rollers appearing from time to time but not much surfing activity witnessed yet.  If you are looking for conversation and decide to paddle out here, I would venture a guess that Russ is up for it.
