Daily Surf Report - 6/8/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

Don't tell anyone - 100 year S swell is here.  Only Bodhi knows about it.
Still plenty of swell out there as buoys continue to read 4.4' @ 18 secs.  A bit of south wind this morning and lots of fog on the deck.  You'll have to paddle out into the unknown but the waves are out there and plenty for everyone. Temp currently 54F with overcast and fog.  Expected warm inland and mild to 70F at the beaches.  Should eventually see the sun but it has a bit of work to do to burn through.  Parking spaces are disappearing quickly as weekend warriors fill the beach.  Great time to buy that new board and put it through the paces!

CHANNEL: Swell angle has moved a touch more W and the Channel is getting a bit of action.  Still needs more water as the morning low is starting to fill in.  Current wave size is knee to thigh high lefts at the Groin.  Afternoon and evening saw chest high lefts in the Channel and head high dumpers at the Boat Ramp.  Still have body-whomping, boogie boarding, steep drop stuff happening right out front with shortboarders on it.  Waves spread out from the ramp to Seadrift and part in between.

PATCH: A bit of morning hangover here as the tide is low and filling in and the S winds are not helping.  Swell still has juice and is breaking mid-way, outside and way outside.  Outside 3rd reef style in the Patch.  Not Afrika-Greene but way, way, way outside past the meeting rock.  Bring your good paddling arms and head out into the unknown.  Stuff is out there and ready to be ridden but current conditions are very foggy.  Size still running waist to shoulder high with some clean faces but also lots of sections to navigate.  More water will and did improve things yesterday.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.
