Daily Surf Report - 11/23/2012

20% off all new gear
10% off all surfboards
1 Day Only - get on it.

Happy day after Thanksgiving everybody! Hope you ate well and are ready for another beautiful day in Bolinas. The sun is out, about 51 degrees and there is a little surf out there. Tide is still a little full but hopefully conditions will improve as the tide flows out through the morning, get your breakfast, coffee and bloody mary and make a go of it.

CHANNEL: Not much happening in the middle due to the big rip tide flowing through there, and the bars have shifted. Lot's of SUPers and surfers over on the Seadrift side and a good little herd ramping it up on the Mali-Bo bar near the pole. Surf looks to be in the knee to thigh high range with occasional waist high wompers.

PATCH: Surf looks to be in the knee high range. Plenty of longbaorders out on it with a kayak doing the perimeter patrol. Should get a little better with the full tide dimishining into late morning.

Daily Surf Report - 11/22/2012

ATTENTION: We will be closed for Thanksgiving and re-open on Friday at 10am. Enjoy the holiday.

Greetings and good day to all of you in surflandia. It is currenting 58 degrees where the patchy morning skies and the sun are vieing for your attention. The surf has improved 'somewhat.' It's still a bit drunk (read; warbly) and the pulses between sets are very frequent. It's a big work out without much payoff. Be sure your paddling skills are bueno and mind the flotsom being pushed around with these pulses. A few bipeds are trying to make it work as I write this.

CHANNEL: It's about waist + for the most part and the set waves are coming in at chest to shoulder high on the outside middle bar BUT before you come racing into town in your yellow Xterra and No Fear t-shirt and start suiting up before looking be forwarned; It's sectioning and closing out faster than a Hostess Cupcake factory. Four (4) longboards and two (2) janitor boards out there right now doing whatever it is they think that they are doing.

PATCH: The Patch is looking rather hung over and after all of the drunken/sea sick water that's been spewing through here it's no wonder. Occasional (and I do mean occasional) waist (+/-) roller comes through at the Snags but it's a wait to-be-sure. If you're gonna' go, it's an Abraham Lincoln morning....LOG. Empty line-up right now.

Just a reminder to pack your trash!!!

Daily Surf Report - 11/20/2012

Goodmorning to all you sea-fairing folks. If one has read the book, 'A Perfect Storm' (okay, or saw the movie) then I will not have to expound any further on today's surf conditions. So, this goes out to the three people who don't read or go to movies (or maybe just don't like George Clooney or Mark Wahlberg). On-shore winds are howling (Chester Burnett style) white capping everything and making it near impossible to have any fun. Empty parking lot, empty line-up, empty heart. Good day to work or sit by a fire, or read a book, or watch a movie.

CHANNEL: Drunk and disorderly again but today it's in major DUI proportions. With more impending rain and such and this relentless on-shore wind it's not looking too great today, kids. Maybe tomorrow? Now, THAT would be a fine Thanksgiving, yeah?

PATCH: The Patch is so unattractively out-of-control, sloppy and drunk that it's making Courtney Love look sane and sober. Yeah, it's that bad! Nirvana it's not, Hole it is. YUCK!

Daily Surf Report - 11/19/2012

Happy Thanksgiving week to all of you with aqua marine dreams and liquid salt realities. It is currently 58 degrees with the sun peeking over the saw-tooth hills but there is a thick blanket of doom & gloom grey that is peering this way, oh-so-menacingly. Sea-sick conditions out here with a heavy on-shore wind and lot's of texture. No real clean waves but that doesn't seem to be stopping anyone. Plenty of wishful thinkers in the drink but two fly fishermen have the right idea.

CHANNEL: Drunk and disorderly is what's happening here this morning. Stiff on-shore wind pushing what could be... D-O-W-N. Below waist high crumble-bums with the law firm of Wind, Chop & Texture sueing any clean waves that dare to come through. A few clients trying to make a go of it... whatever 'it' is?

PATCH: Knee to thigh high grunters which are about as sober as your prom date are puking all over the Patch. This on-shore is mixing up a cocktail that doesn't look too promising, yet several folks are going out anyway. Big boards and lots of Dramamine is recomended.

Daily Surf Report - 11/18/2012

Storm is over sunshine is present. Lightly offshore winds and a relatively smooth ocean surface. Lots of different swell angles in the water so a mixed bag of conditions but definitely rideable today. Currently 49F and clear blue skies. Parking spots are filling up rather quickly so giddy up and get on it.

CHANNEL: Mixed peaks that are relatively clean. Surfers spread out from the Groin pole all the way over to Seadrift. Lots of little peaks breaking with the best waves waist high + and a little spray off the back. Longboards look to be the best call with tide going high until the afternoon.

PATCH: Mixed up but rideable with outside waves looking almost waist high. A bit scattered but right place and time scores. Inside right is throwing and looks good for bodysurfing, boogie boards or paipos. All rocks covered up at the moment and tide still coming in. Big, big logs and SUPs are in the water.

Daily Surf Report - 11/17/2012

Not windy at the moment, drizzle here, drizzle there...hard to tell if things are going to get better or worse. Currently it isn't too cold out, but not very appealing. Water is muddy looking from rain and looking a little mixed up. A little surf out there though, and some guys making a go of it.

CHANNEL: mixed up, kinda peaky, semi-clean...one ocean kayaker ripping away in front of the groin pole and 5 or six surfers on a mixed bag of equipment making a go of it. About knee to waist to maybe chest high on some of the sets.

PATCH: no one out currently but pieces and parts are breaking, probably offering some rides at the right place and the right time...looks to be in the knee high range.
