Daily Surf Report - 7/29/2011

2:00pm Update:
Blue sky and sunshine mixture and temp is 68F. South swell continuing to fill in and waves have improved.

Morning mist, foggy, NO wind and a current temp of 57F this morning. South swell starting to fill in and wave activity has picked up. Sun was out by noon yesterday and day was overall nice.

Channel: Surf is at the knee to thigh high range with lefts on the sandbars and rights at Seadrift. Ocean is smooth today. About 12 surfers in the water. Midsized boards will work on the inner bars.

Patch: Outside waves in the thigh to waist high size. Might need a bit more tide to improve but most rideable on a longboard with nice, smooth rides. About 10 surfers out getting waves.


Special Event:
David Vernor, the man behind Vernor surfboards, will be in the shop this Saturday, 7/30/2011, from 11am to 1pm. This is a great opportunity to talk boards and design with a great shaper. You can work out a custom order or browse the rack of in-stock boards. We have Mini Simmons, shortboards, hybrids, eggs, Mini-Mals, HP longboards and Classic Noseriders in the shop. Always hand-made from start to finish in Santa Cruz.
