Daily Surf Report - 10/14/2014

Well folks, looks like our luck has changed. Gray overcast skies and a slight on shore wind greet us on this Tuesday morning here in BoBo.The swell that has blessed us with favorable surf the last few days has moved on to other locations. High tide is creeping up the boat ramp to see whats going on in town today. If there is anything you need to get caught up on, today would be the day to do it. Outside temp is 61F. Lets hope that the sun will grace us with a little bit of warmth today.

CHANNEL: An on shore wind is keeping anything that rolls in at bay. Waist high rollers with no shape are trying to make their way in this morning with no luck. The same can be said for the Seadrift side as well.


PATCH: Not much to talk about here. The same can be said for the Patch this morning. Lets all pray that something comes in on the changing tide.

Happy monday folks. The sun is rising over the sleeping lady this morning to bring us an epic day in BoBo. Clear skies and blue water greet the few hardy souls out taking on the current conditions. Outside temp is 52F with expected highs in the 80S today. The early surfer gets the waves. Come one come all on this holiday monday. Parking is already filling up and a crowd is on its way. 

CHANNEL: Chest high inconsistent but workable waves coming into the middle channel and groin pole. Just a little sloppy with lots of texture. Sea drift is mush with no waves. Maybe it will pick up later with the changing tide.


PATCH: Thigh high rollers making there way through to the inside snags section. Bring your longboards today people.

Dense fog sweeping over the hill tops, the foxes and squirrels are playing hide and seek. Beautiful morning here in Bo. Temp currently at 53F, but the sun is  expecting to warm us up in the afternoon. Strong swells heading our way today. Already packed out in the streets, looking like a fun day. Know your limits and ABIDE.

CHANNEL: A bit sloppy but workable lefts in front of the groin pole. Middle Channel has some rights and lefts standing up tall and waist high +. Seadrift is not breaking yet but will be working later on today with a different tide.


PATCH:  Waist high waves rolling in with the current dropping tide. Water will be filling in with the higher tide later today and should shape up, bring your longboards for the full effect.

Daily Surf Report - 10/11/2014

 Misty Mountain Hop is playing in the background this morning as all we weekend warriors make our way to this little hamlet. Beautiful day that has a clear horizon once you reach the coast and grey skies that should burn off later today. Air temp is at 56F and bound to heat up as we play in the sand and surf this morning. Come gaze at the calm sea and revel in the hills as the weekend is well underway and comes after a long work week. Swell is on it's way and building out of the NW and should grace us with a plentiful bounty for watercraft of all shapes and sizes. Right now the low tide is making some fun small sized sliders and gliders that are certain to bring a smile to your face and stoke to your heart. Come on out and see whats in store for you today.

CHANNEL:   Waves are breaking in the thigh high plus range in front of the groin pole as a few logs are out working it to the best of their abilities. Sandbars are good and once the tide fills in a bit more along with the swell, expect better size and more peaks to be breaking towards the Seadrift side. Glassy smooth conditions are present with lingering warm water temps and the day is beckoning you to come out and get wet. Stay low like ferrets and corgis for maximum success.


PATCH:  Small surf in the knee high plus range rolling in as about 8 logs a spread thin from the outside past the meeting rock to the inside Snags section. Very rideable with a few different peaks breaking, but look to the sun and stars for guidance as many a rock are peaking through the surface and many a board have been lost to them. Expect an improvement as the tide comes in a but more later this morning, but don't hesitate for too long!

Daily Surf Report - 10/10/2014

New day, new beginnings.  New opportunities await.  New outlook, new adventures, new perspective, new positivity on the horizon.  Approach today like no other.  Relish in the calm and glassy ocean conditions.  Frolic in the 58F degree outdoors.  Marvel at the Marin mountains in the mist.  Make the most of the natural environment in which we live and tread lightly in respect.  Gearing for greatness as NW swell numbers start to climb and S dwindles out.  Low tide now and needs to fill in more but should be ready to rock by this evening and into the weekend.  For now, just small micro-sliders to work with but enough to make it worth a dip. 

CHANNEL:  Good sandbar positions in the Channel have it primed for another dose of Fall energy.  May not show up until tonight and the morning conditions are small but shapely lefts off the Groin that are loggable with grace and precision.  Size topping out at thigh high but smooth and warm ocean is inviting and the tide change will give a little push to help out.  8 surfers in the water as they know what time it is.  Look for improvement into the weekend as something new is brewing up. 


PATCH:  Still waves of the small but rideable variety breaking mostly inside amongst the Snags and requiring navigational skills to avoid the rocks.  Wave height is maxing out at knee high + and there are surfers in the water here already.  More tide will surely help but you can get your watery groove on here today now and later.  Find a peak and ride a wave.  TGIF.

Coastal cloudiness this morning but up high and no fog.  Good visibility to see whatever your eyes wish to absorb.  Try to see things as half full and always in a positive light.  Temp is 56F and there is no wind.  Expecting a clear and mild day in our beautiful coastal hamlet today.  A glassy ocean with minor amounts of wave action but enough to have you up and riding in short order.  Surfing always trumps not surfing so a few small waves is a great way to get the day started.

CHANNEL:  NW windswell and the fading S remnants are all that remain.  Like the end of a good party - there are always a few tasty leftovers to be had.  Knee to thigh high lefts off the Groin bar may just be your ticket to ride today.  A pod of 8 on it and joyously experiencing the bounty that exists.  A few small but shapely Mali-Bo inside rights starting to show with the incoming tide.  Longboards work today if you need to get wet.


PATCH:  Non-epic conditions but a few small rolling rights making their way into the Patch as the tide heads high.  Rideable yes on the biggest of big boards.  Some rock tips exposed but that adds to the excitement.  Empty lineup so go make it your own this morning.

WE WILL BE CLOSING AT 4:30PM TODAY. DOORS WILL RE-OPEN TOMORROW AT 9AM.

 

Good morning from down town Bolinas. Well folks, cold and overcast this beautiful hump day morning. 57F is the current outside temp with a forecast of the high 70s today. A thick mist is hanging out over our little piece of heaven making the view from the beach a little challenging. Small rolling waves coming into the middle channel and left of the groin pole. Two log warriors out taking on the conditions. The patch is shrouded in mist and remains an invisible  mystery. According to some surfers yesterday afternoon, the patch was the place to be. If you are heading out this morning, bring your coat. 

CHANNEL: Mushy waves in the middle channel and to the left of the groin pole. Inconsistent conditions prevail as the swell dies out.


PATCH:  Visibility is low but expect small wave in the ankle to knee range.
