Daily Surf Report - 9/12/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive.” – Elbert Hubbard

“How sweet the morning air is! See how that one little cloud floats like a pink feather from some gigantic flamingo. Now the red rim of the sun pushes itself over the cloud-bank. It shines on a good many folk, but on none, I dare bet, who are on a stranger errand than you and I. How small we feel with our petty ambitions and strivings in the presence of the great elemental forces of Nature!”

Temp is 59F and air is calm.  Full sunshine and beautiful yesterday and the same is expected today.  Inland heat wave for the next 3 so the beach is the place to be.  South swell pulsing but it has been tidally dependent.  Water levels a bit low now but starting the turnaround for the rest of the day so eyes open to endless positive possibilities.  Find the best that nature has to offer and as always - ABIDE.

CHANNEL:  Low tide and NW windswell offering up soft waves in the near knee high dimension.  A few longboarders out there now and the incoming tide push could enhance the experience in the next hour.  Loggable lefts and rideable rights are available for the long board and good paddler.  Ride now and ride later for the best results.

PATCH:  Lonely SUP well outside waiting for that S swell set.  Flatness prevails during the lulls and water levels are low.  Not much happening now but later should start to turn on with more water.  Fun sized and good period S swell showing on the buoys and just needs time to wake up and filter in. Hike now and pull out the log later for the smooth comfortable ride.

Daily Surf Report - 9/11/2014

CLOSING EARLY - 4:30pm.
S swell starting to pulse in the Patch.  Go Surf!

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
“What separates us from the animals, what separates us from the chaos, is our ability to mourn people we’ve never met.” – Author David Levithan

Solemn and quiet day as we remember 9/11 on the 13th anniversary of the fateful day that changed so many lives.  Overcast and quiet morning with only the dreamers and schemers in the water at the moment.  Temp 60F and likely not to move much above this number today.  Not much happening in the ocean as swells have diminished and morning tides are low.  Still a few people in the water getting that good feeling to start the day and a dip in the salty brine can only enhance awareness and stoke.  Lots of fog that may not burn off today.  Inland pursuits may be more rewarding but keep hope alive for the next round of wave action to grace our beaches.

CHANNEL:  Very little yet just enough to get 8 longboarders suited up and out there.  Find your inner enthusiasm and go venture forth as well.  Just knee high windswell waves to work with but if it gets you motivated have at it.  Channel, Groin or Seadrift areas all sharing similar conditions.  Tide is incoming and could help with a little extra push but small and meager are the words of the day.

PATCH:  Outside flatness with 1 SUP touring it.  Inside knee breakers that might get the big boards moving.  No takers on surfing right now but more water can change this perception.  Try wait and if conditions greatly improve we will update you here.

Daily Surf Report - 9/10/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"The day, water, sun, moon, night - I do not have to purchase these things with money." - Plautus

We will be closing at 4:30pm today. Doors re-open at 9am tomorrow.

Well people, not much happening on lake bolinas today. Maybe a good day to stay home and get caught up on some cartoon watching. Sleeping in may be a good option also. But if the sun does come out, it will be a beautiful to hang out on the beach. Right now it is overcast with a temp of 60F. The sun is making an effort to break through the clouds. Lets keep our fingers crossed for changed conditions on the horizon when the tide changes and the fog burns off.

CHANNEL:Nothing, nada, nill. Not much happening with no one out and a low tide. If you stare long enough you may see a small ripple of hope roll in.

PATCH: Ditto. Well, what else is there to say. One SUP paddling around and around and around. Pray for waves at a better tide.

Daily Surf Report - 9/9/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"You've got to embrace the future. You can whine about it, but you've got to embrace it." - Matt Groening

We will be closing at 4:30pm today. Doors re-open at 9am tomorrow.

Sleepy days, cozy days, reading days. All things that can describe this morning here in Bo. It's overcast with a faint breeze that makes for a perfect morning to sit atop that floor heater with a blanket, some Calvin and Hobbes comics and a steaming cup of hot chocolate (with extra marshmallows of course). Air temps are at 59F as we say adios to the south swell that was so kind to grace us with her presence the last few days. As for right now it is lake Bolinas with no one out and only our hopes and dreams for improvement later today with a different tide. So maybe stay in bed and sleep in, take a bike ride, go hiking, or just relax on the sand (also pray for some sun).

CHANNEL: Nothing breaking but the slight ripple where the exposed sandbar meets the ocean. No one out and only hopes of a better tide and a sneaky swell. Best bet is to wait til further notice.

PATCH:  One guy out meditating out past the meeting rock and occasionally paddling to a different area in hopes of some better luck. Nothing breaking here either, but it is a more hopeful spot than the channel for later today with the tide.

Daily Surf Report- 9/8/2014

We will be closing early today at 4:30. Doors will re-open again tomorrow at 9.

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of." - Bruce Lee

Small but promising today. If conditions are anything like yesterday, we are in for an epic afternoon. Slightly overcast in BoBo this morning with a temp of 59. Not much wind blowing. Swell is on the small side as the tide finds her way out. Conditions should improve on the changing tide. A small crowd has already appeared on the horizon. Bring you long boards out today for some good old Bolinas fun.

CHANNEL:The SW swell has calmed down a little today producing mid shin to slightly higher than knee high waves.A few people out at the middle channel to the groin pole working what mother nature will allow.

PATCH: More consistent waves in the knee high range rolling through this morning as a hand full of souls work the conditions this morning.Bring your larger water craft out for some classic fun. This seems to be the spot to be this Monday morning.

Daily Surf Report - 9/7/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"Step with care and great tact ,and remember that life's a great balancing act." - Dr. Seuss

Swell is here, swell is here, swell is here. Beautiful rights and lefts are peeling through this morning as the sun is coming out and air temps are reaching for the mid 60s already. Not much wind to speak of and what there is, is offshore. A crowd is already out in force and parking is already passing the shop. Get here quick before parking goes extinct and the swell disappears!

CHANNEL: Comboing SW and NW swells are creating very workable waist high waves in front of the groin pole and in the middle channel. Not as much on Seadrift side, but stay tuned as the tide comes in a bit more. About 20 guys and gals on various watercraft out and about doing their things.

PATCH:  The spot to be this morning. Waist high waves are breaking way outside the meeting rock and effortlessly connecting to the inside Snags section. What seems to be about 50 logs out (maybe an exaggeration, but you get the point) all gliding their way into shore and paddling back out again. Whatever you decide to day, best make up your mind quick and get here.

Daily Surf Report - 9/6/2014

Inspirational crystal quote of the day:
"Never assume that because a man has no eyes, he cannot see." - Master Po

Sneak peaky SW swell showing on the buoys and starting to fill in with the incoming tide.  Residual NW windswell still activated and angles allow for both spots to break and have waves today.  Not EPIC like last week and that was a once in 20 year phenomenon - but Bo-beautiful and rideable for your longboarding desires.  See what is un-shown and unravel the current conditions to suit your future needs.  Find peace in the ocean and happiness will be at your hand today.  Currently coastal overcast with very light wind and temp at 61F.  Sun and mildness on tap for the afternoon and water levels are getting good to hold some surf through the weekend.

CHANNEL: Combo swell waves generating glideable lefts outside the Groin pole that hold shape and bend into the beach.  Size is thigh to waist high and fairly consistent.  A few go right and will connect inside at Mali-Bo with the incoming tide push.  Lefts deeper in the Channel not too shapely but Seadrift rights may be the ticket today if you want to ride a little shorter board.  Whatever your wishes are can be met today and exceeded.  Remember - there are numbers higher than 1.

PATCH: S swell rollers coming through at waist high or better on the outside.  Fold over waves that can take you for a short or long ride depending on mood.  Inside rights peel and reel towards shore at breakneck speed and have good shape and form.  Partial credit is always allowed so ride a piece here and another piece there.  Celebrate the surf and spread some stoke.  As swell fills in this will be the spot.
