Daily Surf Report - 5/7/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

Lightly overcast but very calm and warm at 60F.  Mix of blue skies and sun showing through here and there.  Should turn out to be a nice day at the beach.  Another S swell on the radar but not showing up here yet.  May need another day to fill in but there still are a few smooth ones to ride out there.

CHANNEL: Smooth, glassy and rideable this morning.  Groin bar lefts are rolling in outside and can be milked and ridden in past the pole.  Size is waist high.  Mali-Bo rights working as well with the incoming tide push and if you can make it past the middle section reforms and runs to the sand.  Size is thigh/waist high.  Looks best on a longboard but maybe something smaller can get moving as well.  3 in the water here.

PATCH: Small surf and long waits today.  May be the S swell precursors testing things out.  Peaks in the thigh to waist high size outside every 15 mins.  A few insider rights as well at the Snags.  Tide incoming and covering up the rocks.  A few waves here and there and mostly mid-way and inside right now.  Looks fun on a big log.

Daily Surf Report - 5/6/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

New day, new week, new weather.  Coastal overcast but no winds and currently 57F and balmy.  Sunshine is just around the bend and already showing in Pt. Reyes.  If yesterday wasn't your cup of tea give today a whirl.  More to ride and looks to be a nice day on the coast as well.  South swell is gone and the North is meager but the wind swell will give us something to ride today.

CHANNEL: A bit churned but peaks pop up and offer rides along the Groin bar.  Not super clean but give it time to calm down from yesterday and you may be pleasantly surprised with the results.  Incoming tide push giving some help but hurry before it swamps out.  Size looks to be almost waist high and mostly rights into the Mali-Bo area.  Still best on longboards today.

PATCH: A few waves here and there and mostly mid-way and inside right now.  A few longboarders and 2 SUPs in the water and the rights are rideable and thigh high + in size.  Overall relatively smooth and not too bad considering what yesterday looked like.  Giddy up and get in the water.

Daily Surf Report - 5/5/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

Don't be a cry baby. Put some gravel in your gut and come out to the coast. It might be that time of the month for Poseidon but the true shredder would face these not so good conditions with fortitude. Cloudy day and 56F with south winds and a  NOT SO beautiful end to the weekend. S swell lingers in a coma but just needs a brave surfer to bring him back to life. Eat your greens and come out. Get your knees wet and possibly even your upper thigh on a bigger set.

CHANNEL: Messy, small and sour. Hugging the groin pole may help you find a piece or part but no one is out and the seals are kings of this spot. Lower tide may make this not so good spot even worse so hurry out and TRY and have fun.

PATCH: If your not much of a surfer and prefer to wade and hangout in the kelp forest you are stoked. No surfers out and my crystal orb does not seem to show a bright future both because of the lack of surf and sun. If you love your mother earth you will give her a hug anyway and forget the wind! Conditions should get even worse with low tide but you may possibly find a wave at dusk with the next high.

Daily Surf Report - 5/4/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

If you're not laughing you're crying.  Put a smile and some sunscreen on your face and get in the water.  Sunny and 54F with no winds and a beautiful start to the weekend.  S swell continues to stick around and cough out another day of waves for your riding pleasure.  Morning high tide giving that nice extra push.  Surf in both spots in town today.

CHANNEL: Super glassy and clean with plenty of rights in the Mali-BO arena.  Equipment working on all cylinders including longboards, foamie paipos, Beaters, eggs, etc.  Fins first acrobatics and tandem surfing galore.  Inside shampoo sections with blow dry and comb out available on the run back up the beach to the first peak.  Occasional lefts to shoot the pier on if you have nerves of steel.  Size is consistently waist high + and few up to chest.  Lather / Rinse / Repeat.

PATCH: Continues to have fun and rideable longboard surf in the thigh to waist high range.  Logs and SUPs on it again and plenty of water keeps the rocks, barnacles and starfish covered up.  Seals and manta rays in groups out and about.  Will start to diminish as tide pulls out but will re-convene in the evening.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

Daily Surf Report - 5/3/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

A little cooler morning than yesterday but still sunny and beautiful.  No winds and current temp of 54F.  It will heat up inland so get out to the beach.  S swell machine still generating some juice and producing lots of waves for your enjoyment.  Tide is starting to turn and head low so jump in the water now and take your turn on the carnival ride.

CHANNEL: A small but rideable left working off the Groin bar and into the Channel today.  Fair conditions at best but waves to be had if this is your preferred spot.  Seadrift may have something worth exploring today as well.  Size remains in the thigh high range.  Get on it now or wait until the tide change in the afternoon.

PATCH: Legends of the Game session with CWSC president Christian W and up-and-coming, rising start "Power Mouse" Ellis dominating the action.  Tide switch / Switch stance antics.  Plenty of push today and sets of waves arrive about every 10 mins or so.  Smooth and glassy rights with open faces for noseriding and plenty of turns.  High tide has rocks covered up and long rides to the beach are the norm.  Breaking outside at the meeting rock and a bit N as well.  Size up to waist + and overall a very fun morning.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

Daily Surf Report - 5/2/2013

Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

Sunny and already warm with NE winds blowing and a current morning temp of 63F.  Great day to come out and cool off at the beach.  South swell has filled in and is showing.  Tide is heading low in a hurry so early morning sessions are best or afternoon/evenings when the water returns.

CHANNEL: Getting rippy and trippy as water levels drop.  Still a shapely left working at the Groin bar but the Channel isn't working too well.  A few intrepid explorers reported Seadrift waves are rideable.  Size remains in the thigh high range.  Get on it now or wait until the tide change in the afternoon.

PATCH: S swell showing at the Patch.  Better at the higher early morning tide but still working now with the tide heading low, low.  Mushy peaks to ride on your log and size is thigh to almost waist high today.  Surfers and SUPs in the water and bigger boards will work well today.  Rocks are currently covered for your slide and glide enjoyment.  That wont be the case in a few hours so now is better.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Respect the Beach.

Daily Surf Report - 5/1/2013

Back in action after a short scheduling hiccup.  Now rocking our SUMMER HOURS and open daily from 9am - 6pm.

Welcome to MAY!.  We start the month beautiful with full on sunshine, no wind whatsoever and a current morning temp of 56F.  A really nice beach day already.  Tide is heading low, low and really starting to suck out.  Get it while you can of wait for the evening session.

CHANNEL: A bit rippy looking as tide drops out to a negative low.  Still some thigh high + lefts to be sampled at the Groin bar.  It is now or never over here as water levels are dropping but there are still waves at the moment....

PATCH: Small but longer period S swell showing signs at the Patch.  Frequent waves happening all over the region and most shapely outside around the meeting rock.  Size runs up to waist high.  A small SUP contingent and some logger lumberjacks on it in a Battle Royale style cage match.  Bring the big board - get some waves to ride.  Afternoon tide push has been productive.
