Daily Surf Report - 3/31/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The sea hath fish for every man." -William Camden

Populations dwindle in the water but grow on the beach. A bright, sunny morning is upon us and the the true fans are already here. Windy and chilly but the light gives us hope. 57F currently but we wish for more more more. Extra low tides have cleared the walking way. Enjoy a view or two, for you may stay dry.

CHANNEL: Some hear the call, others refuse. Shin high or rocky? You'll have to choose.

PATCH:  Full rocky island exposed, but still enough water to wet your toes. Sets still coming in slow but steady, knee high and breezy.

Daily Surf Report - 3/30/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose." - Dr. Seuss

The direction of the general population today doesn't seem to be out here to Bolinas as I saw more drivers out on a leisurely drive than those who were stoked to surf. Once again we got that WNW wind swell and a solid 55F temperature to quench our Thirsty Thursday; this time however, it seems we may stay parched for the wind is stirring up a whole bunch of choppy stew. Windy wet-willy anyone?

CHANNEL: I had a fellow viewer today looking at the channel and her thought process must of been thinking of one thing only: I made a huge mistake - similar to the mood in our country.

PATCH:  If you like a long paddle, a bumpy ride and some mediocre waves today is your day; the ocean is clear of humans, birds and seals from the look of it but you may just find yourself making friends with some rocks.

We are closed every Wednesday in the month of March

We will re-open on Thursday at 10:00 AM

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Animals are such agreeable friends - they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms." - George Eliot

Wonky, wacky and distorted...what's next? As the tides come in the surfers start to trickle out and although that NW swell is still pushing in it seems the people have better things - or maybe they already got the best. Starting off the morning with a solid 57F temperaturein the words of Jim JefferiesBo baby, you might just be 7 and a damn good looker...too bad everyone has a not so desirable trait and yours just seems to be the wind todayLet's hope it simmers down and allows those rollers to keep on keeping on.....

CHANNEL:
Anyone in the mood to share some kind words todayThere seems to be a man out there all alone, lost and confused...someone please direct him towards the waves.

PATCH:  Longlean and far. If you can paddle, grab the surfboard and go before that wind picks up because there's some prime time.

Daily Surf Report - 3/27/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Earth laughs in flowers" - Ralph waldo Emerson

The lo-down in Bo-town. It is a Bo-utiful day out here. Sun has broken through what is now a misty covered mountain memory. Worms are donning their lifesavers and jumping into nature made swimming/pothole pools. Worm pool party already underway on Brighton Avenue. Word on the street, the sloth gang is coming. Word to the sloths - be careful driving out today, wet roads, potholes, puddles and such.

Currently 54 degrees outside!
Water up the ramp. Not much beach at this time.

CHANNEL:
Seems to be the spot for fishing (please don't bother the worms at the party).

PATCH:  3 riders in the Patch. Little peaceful rollers coming through. Patience can serve you a shin to sometimes thigh high ride.

Daily Surf Report - 3/26/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Every human being is intended to have a character of their own; to be what no others are, and to do what no other can do." - William Ellery Channing

Overcast with early droplets from above.  Light and easing winds now from the NE with temps middling at 50F.  Expect a little sun and a light sprinkling of rain as that has been our norm.  A rather lively NW swell is roaming around with a bit of S windswell to keep everyone on their toes.  Burgeoning high tide threatens to swamp the scene so plan wisely and expect rapid changes.

CHANNEL:
Hefty helpings heaving along the corridor from the Channel across to Seadrift in the deeper waters.  Groin bar showing less energy but palatable lefts and nothing holding much in terms of lengthy rides.  Waist to chest and slightly above can be experienced or witnessed.  Incoming tide will soften as swell fades today.

PATCH:  Enough S windswell and NW fragments to lure a large tribe of loggers.  A bit wonky in shape but generally smooth with wave heights marginalized around thigh to waist.  A bit too much water causing some slosh and splash but enough enticement to suit up for a go.

Daily Surf Report - 3/25/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"You cannot grow unless you are willing to change.  You will never improve yourself if you cling to what used to be." - Leon Brown

Moon slivers above with deep fog below as we jump back into the fray after another day of rain.  Skies above are now rapidly clearing and related blue seeps forth.  Temp of 48F and all the winds quit last night.  Hefty NW swell topping out today with enough S windswell to make its movements known. Tidal swings like personality changes may effect your stoke levels today.

CHANNEL:
Divided peaks attempting extrapolation and consistency as new sandbars compete for your scrutiny.  All along the corridor from the Groin wall through the Channel and over to Seadrift shows options and opportunities to be seizedEfforting at waist high +.  Incoming tide in the late morning will push up against the walls so let awareness be your word of the day.

Stepping in a rhythm to a Kurtis Blow

Who needs to think when your feet just go

Daily Surf Report - 3/24/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust

Spring showers at all hours with occasional heavy stuff coming down.  Associated S winds keeps things mixed and well churned.  SW windswell is the predominant force this morning but mainly a disorderly and confused ocean.  Temps are 52F and the storm is predicted to be short lived which remains to be seen.  Some people might say you're going to get wet anyway so suit up.  The choice is always yours to make.

CHANNEL:
Surly and sour in the early light as current storm swirls and saps strength.  Chunky alternatives with little organization make for an exciting option though very little consistency.

PATCH:  Steep S swell and the windswell options would be readily apparent here if it weren't for the storm and winds.  Finding no shelter or solace so far today.

Daily Surf Report - 3/23/2017

Inspirational Quote of the Day:
"Don't think or judge, just listen." - Sarah Dessen

Cleared skies with moon + sun as guides is a portent of a wonderful spring day.  Mounted WNW swell and a touch of S nearly hidden has this day on the radar for stoke and slides.  Temps manifesting early at 43F and rising with only the lightest of NW winds to contend with.  Early high tide now easing back has all things good aligned and those not working are in playFind where you fit in and occupy.

CHANNEL:
Energetic offerings with the higher water volumes as combined efforts from the NW reformulate.  Resilient rollers appear and rear with wave heights posturing at waist to chest.  Outgoing tide may help to forge better shape but for now there is something worth a hard stare and a short sampling.

PATCH:  Smooth and sporadic as the S pulses are buried beneath.  A logging option as what shows goes and slows on the peaking tide.  As above, so below.
